I am an assistant professor of economics at Metropolitan State University of Denver and earned my PhD in economics from George Mason University.
My research is broadly in the fields of applied microeconomics and political economy, with published work appearing in journals including the Canadian Journal of Economics, Journal of Government and Economics, Defence and Peace Economics, Eastern Economic Journal, Review of Austrian Economics, The Independent Review, and Constitutional Political Economy. Much of my work looks at how institutions shape economic and political behavior. Recent projects explore the structure of defense research, the implications of state capacity for how we measure national output, the political economy of military base redevelopment, institutional change in colonial Maine, and policy-driven shifts in mobility and incentives.
At MSU Denver I teach across the undergraduate and MBA curriculum, offering courses in global economic history, microeconomics, macroeconomics, managerial economics, and economic policy analysis, both online and in person.
